Lenzie Parent and Toddler Group is run on a purely voluntary basis by local parents and relies on the support of the members to keep the group running. The group employs a play leader who sets up, makes snacks and drinks for the children, supervises structured activities and crafts, reads stories, leads song time and helps tidy up at the end of the session.
Any money made from session fees pays for the play leader’s wages, the rent of the hall and things like drinks, snacks and new toys or equipment. Discounts are available for siblings and/or attending on more than one day a week.
We have a variety of toys and books for children to play with during the session, plus a soft matted area for parents with young babies to sit on and a selection of baby toys & equipment. We also have a large amount of soft play equipment including blocks, mats and see saw and slide. The session ends with music time once the toys are put away.
Our group is aimed at children aged from birth to 3 years of age. It is important that parents and carers understand that they, not the play leader, must take responsibility for any children they bring along to our sessions. Parents must be prepared to keep a watchful eye on their children to prevent any accidents.
Throughout the year we offer arts, crafts & seasonally themed sessions, a day out for all the family, family photographer, and a fun packed Christmas party with a visit from Father Christmas.
We serve refreshments around 10am – there is a choice of a hot or cold drink and biscuits for all adults who attend our sessions, plus a sippy cup of squash, water or milk for each of the children. Fresh fruit is served for the children, along with plain biscuits, Quavers, crackers or breadsticks. Special dietary needs can be catered for.
We are always happy to see new faces at our sessions. Mums, dads, grandparents or carers with young children are all welcome at our group.
